Summer is most certainly not over - the sudden recent heatwave has confirmed that - but it is drawing to a close. During these last couple of months of warm weather I’m making the most of every last bit of sunshine, the brighter days and long evenings.

With that comes wearing everything that I love the most in my summer wardrobe, from pastel dresses and straw bags to espadrille wedges and big hats. Light fabrics and colours are a particular favourite including this dress which I actually bought last summer. It wasn’t expensive (I think I got it on sale) but I knew as soon as I saw it that I would wear it for many summers to come.

I’ve worn this dress on city breaks, to the office and when out and about at the weekend. I love the comfortable design, the easy fabric which has now been washed numerous times and the pretty pink colour which brightens things up, even when there is a little Scottish summer rain forecast.

Paired with espadrilles and a cardigan or denim jacket when things are a little colder in the evening, it’s so feminine feeling which is what I like the most. Here are some of my other favourite feminine pieces perfect for this time of year.
