I’ve always been drawn to floral and botanical prints, especially at this time of year when I can take so much inspiration from the summer happenings around me. From occasion wear pieces and wedding guest outfits to everyday cotton dresses and accessories, my wardrobe is currently bursting into bloom.

One of my current favourite botanical pieces is this vases print Tencel maxi dress from Thought. A beautiful brand, based in London, boasting a range created from sustainable and natural materials such as hemp and cotton, Thought’s dresses, skirts and blouses are perfect for warmer summer days thanks to their breathable fabric and colourful design. This maxi dress is no different with the non-stretch and smooth Tensel being soft and pleasant on the skin. It’s one of those pieces that I know I’ll have in my wardrobe in years to come, still in perfect condition.

I recently wore this dress on a not so sunny but muggy Sunday. We took a long stroll around a local park, browsing the climbing roses, stopping off for an al fresco lunch, and not once did I feel warm or sticky. I opted to pair the dress with a pair of flat espadrilles and a basket bag (of course) for a laid-back and casual look, but plan to formalise it with wedge shoes and a more structured bag in the future. It will be perfect for one of the many weddings that we have this year.

The vases dress is part of the recent SS19 collection and there are many other items that I have my eye on. To provide some inspiration, here’s what’s currently on my Thought wishlist - whatever you choose, you’ll have it forever.
