A classic coat is by far one of my favourite wardrobe staples. Many moons ago I bought a camel coat which has seen me through several autumns and winters but sadly it’s come to the end of its life. However, thankfully I have found a replacement that I can wear for years to come which is just as classic and versatile.

This Jesper Bamboo Wool Coat from Thought is perfect for this time of year. Tied together it’s cosy on cold days but unwrapped it’s ideal when the autumn sun, perhaps less frequently, is shining. Layered over dresses, skirts or sweaters, it’s a timeless piece that will be in style for many future seasons.

Falling to the knee with a tie waist, it’s really flattering for my shape but also comfortable to wear thanks to the breathable bamboo fabric.

The Jesper coat is one of many beautiful pieces from the clothing and accessories brand Thought., an ethical company committed to minimizing environmental footprint and supporting slow fashion. With a new Autumn Winter 2019 collection just arrived, here are some of my top picks from the brand.

Jesper Wool Coat

Of course this coat is top of my list. The warm colours are perfect for autumn and the high neck wrap around collar keeps me warm, even on the coldest of days in the north of Scotland.

Ditte Garnet Dress

The colour of this dress is like a jewel and with bow ties on the waist it’s so feminine too. I have my eye on this one for my work wardrobe.

Lisket Cord Dress

I’ve become a little obsessed with cord this season and with this dress a similar shade to the Jesper coat it’s another great piece for autumn. Worn with tights and boots, I love this style for rainy days.

Sleepy Cabin Sock

Having worn Thought socks in the past these look like a dream. The brand’s sustainable socks are so unbelievably cosy and great under boots at this time of year.
