IMMUNE BOOSTING SMOOTHIE

This time of year is the worst for catching bugs. Whether you're frequently travelling or sitting in a cramped office, it's likely that you're trying your very best not to catch the cold or the latest stomach bug.

To help keep my immune system up I've been drinking this smoothie. Very zesty with a kick of ginger, it's great first thing in the morning. 

Here's what you'll need: 

Three oranges, peeled 

Two carrots, peeled and cut into small chunks

Small knob of ginger, peeled and sliced 

1/2 tsp turmeric 

A dash of lemon 

In a smoothie maker, blend together the oranges and carrots. Add the ginger and turmeric and wiz again. If your smoothie is too thick then you can mix in a little water or some apple juice. 

Pour into a glass and enjoy first thing. I keep the mixture in a tall glass bottle in the fridge for one to two days.
