CREATING A COSY BREAKFAST NOOK

IMG_0801.jpg

I recently posted about our new breakfast tableware that we picked up during our trip to Spain and promised to show you how we're styling and using it.

Our breakfast nook is easily one of my favourite in our home. It was one of the first things that drew me to the property and I'm so happy that we have it to enjoy on weekend mornings together. We always find ourselves there first thing in the morning with plenty of great food, a little background music and each other's company. Whether it's breakfast just the two of us or dinner with a few friends, it's safe to say that we use this spot a lot.

I've shared some snippets of this area on here and Instagram and received lots of questions about the new dishes that we're using. Although our new tableware was purchased from a small pottery shop in the South of Spain, I've listed below some similar items.

Using these dishes alongside some additional accessories can quickly create a very calming and cosy breakfast nook.

Painted Plates

A couple of painted plates or serving dishes instantly add a pop of colour and style to a table. I was spoiled for choice when in Spain but since coming home have found some pieces just as pretty, such as these plates from Harrods and these from F&F at Tesco

Cotton Napkins

Reusable, clean and to be honest just nice to have, cotton napkins are a lovely addition to a breakfast table. I love these very cute napkins from Not On on the High Street as well as this set of four napkins again from F&F at Tesco

Serving Dishes

Beautiful serving dishes really make a difference to how a table looks, especially when you have guests. I like to keep things simple with our serving dishes and often use white pieces such as this jug which is perfect for fresh juice and this sugar bowl from John Lewis.
