I'm still quite child-like when it comes to my birthday. I get all excited and count down the days, have champagne with family and friends and act surprised when my mum switches off the lights to bring through the cake. This year was no exception.

I was lucky enough to be spending my birthday in France on a ski holiday to La Clusaz. I was awoken with the obligatory Happy Birthday song from my parents and sister and a morning cuddle from my other half.

We all enjoyed breakfast together in the apartment while I opened my pressies and cards. Pulling bright pink paper decorated with unicorns to the side,  I opened a far too large pile of thoughtful gifts.

Pineapples made a regular appearance among Satechi heaphones which I've had my eye on for months, a rose gold bangle, Hotel Chocolat treats, ASOS pyjamas and enough Lush bath bombs to make a bath explode.

We hit the ski slopes for the afternoon and after all agreeing that our legs had taken quite enough snow ploughs, we headed for a local restaurant, L'Outa.

This has got to be one of the cosiest places I've ever been. Filled with warm blankets, sheepskin rugs and a toasty fire, we enjoyed a few too many glasses of wine, steak and my all time favourite - crepes avec citrone et sucre.

Thank you to everyone who wished me a Happy Birthday and for all of your lovely gifts.
